Description

Borage oil softgels

Borage oil softgels contain Borage seed oil and Vitamin. Borage oil is widely used for its high content in GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), a polyunsaturated fatty acid of the Omega 6 series called semi-essential, which in the seeds reaches an average content of 17-25%, much higher than in any other plant source.
Borage oil is an excellent adjuvant for:

  • WRINKLES AND SKIN AGING
  • ACNE
  • SUNBURNS
  • PSORIASIS, DERMATITES
  • MENSTRUAL PAIN
  • EARLY MENOPAUSE
  • INFLAMMATIONS

Borago officinails

In addition to the relevant gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content, Borage oil contains α-linolenic acid (ALA), a precursor of the Omega 3 series, and many other polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Essential fatty acids are necessary for many physiological processes including normal growth, skin and hair health, cholesterol metabolism and reproductive performance. They support the structure and functionality of cell membranes, helping to improve their fluidity and flexibility.

Omega-3 fatty acids are more abundant in the brain and retina cell membranes, they are necessary for proper neural activity, sight and reproductive function. Omega-6 are abundant in the liver and platelets.

Our Borage oil softgels are enriched with vitamin E, a powerful natural antioxidant, also useful to preserve the integrity of the fatty acids contained in the oil.

Benefits of Borage oil softgels

For Skin

The GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) contained in Borage Oil softgels supports our physiological skin barrier functions. It reduces water loss in the corneal stratum, and corrects sebaceous glands’ secretory imbalances.

For the aforementioned reasons, Borage Oil softgels are a valid supplement for subjects suffering from seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, dry skin, eczema, itching and acne. Borage oil improves skin transpiration and elasticity, and is ideal to counteract skin wrinkles, excessive sunlight exposure or other environmental stress factors, such as air pollution.

For Blood Circulation

Thanks to the high content of GLA, Borage oil reduces platelet aggregation and proliferation of smooth muscle cells and macrophages in the arterial wall. These characteristics suggest its use for atherosclerosis prevention.

For Osteo-Articular system

Borage oil is used to reduce rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatic diseases, which are symptoms of joints degenerative and inflammatory disorders.

Its therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis has been demonstrated by a double blind clinical trial: the dose of 1,400 mg/day, reduced joint stiffness and swelling, respectively, by 36% and 28%. No effect and sometimes worsening of symptoms was observed in the placebo group.

For Premenstrual syndrome

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory activity, Borage oil is used in the treatment of premenstrual syndromes associated with mastodynia and mastalgia, in amenorrhea, menopause and in cases of intimate dryness.
